Sponsored by Niamh's Hair Design

Grace Gavigan, is from Port Talbot and is studying A-Levels in Law, English Literature, History and Welsh Baccalaureate.
She plans on attending university in September to study Law, specialising in environmental legislation. Grace said, ‘’I want to make a significant difference in protecting our environment and communities by addressing issues like pollution, wildlife protection, and climate change.’’
During her spare time, Grace is busy delivering and promoting her Pollinator Pathways community project as well as educating young people about how to deal with Eco Anxiety. Grace recently collaborated with the social media platform ‘Oh So Eco’ to promote her climate change blog called ‘Fear For Our Future’.
Grace’s Pollinator Pathways Project is a labour of love and includes working with the local community, groups, schools, charities and health care providers to identify areas of land to plant wildflower seeds to help our declining pollinators. She also loves walking and exploring the beautiful Welsh coastline and is a keen amateur wildlife photographer.
She has been a proud volunteer of the Neath Port Talbot Nature Group the Wildlife Trust for several years and has been fortunate to witness some of Wales’ greatest wildlife-phenomenon’s whilst volunteering which has increased her passion to protect our natural world.
Grace said: “I’m so proud of everything that I’ve achieved during my time as an environmental volunteer. I have undertaken numerous fundraising challenges for the Wildlife Trust and other charities, raising over £3,000 over the last year.
To raise funds for the Miss Earth Wales nominated charity; A-sisterhood, I’m selling my ‘Bee Happy’ pollinator friendly wildflower seed packets which also supports the aims of my Pollinator Pathways Project.
I’m also passionate about campaigning to raise awareness of the fragile beauty of our ecosystems, whilst encouraging our communities to recognise our role as custodians of this delicate planet.’’
I hope through my community work and social media platform to inspire people to connect with nature on their doorstep and show how the smallest individual actions can make a big difference in helping our natural world.
It would be an absolute honour to be crowned Miss Earth Wales 2024 and such a privilege to represent and promote Wales on a local, national and global stage.
