Kaylesha Addati’s advocacy begins with the belief that people should be able to care for themselves without harming the planet in the process.
At 19 years old, she is passionate about advocating for sustainable beauty and raising awareness of the environmental damage caused by the skincare and cosmetics industry, from harmful chemicals, single use plastics, animal testing and the destruction of marine ecosystems caused by non reef safe products.
Working within the skincare industry, Kaylesha has developed a growing understanding of the relationship between beauty, consumerism, and environmental responsibility. This inspired her ambition to pursue dermatology, where she aims to contribute towards a future of skincare that is transparent, cruelty free, environmentally conscious, and focused on long term wellbeing rather than overconsumption.
Her advocacy surrounding sustainable beauty has led her to volunteer in coral restoration projects in Indonesia, where she witnessed first hand the impact pollution, plastic waste, harmful chemicals, and non reef safe products can have on underwater ecosystems. To Kaylesha, the ocean represents something powerful: a reminder that every country, culture, person, and living being is connected.
Compassion for animals has shaped much of who she is today. Growing up with dogs, including rescuing one from the streets of Spain, deepened her connection to animal welfare from a young age and influenced her decision to become vegetarian as part of her commitment to living more consciously and sustainably.
Beyond sustainable beauty advocacy, Kaylesha has immersed herself in environmental and community initiatives including volunteering at animal shelters, supporting charity run farms, volunteering at an ethical elephant sanctuary in Thailand, attending climate change talks at the Welsh Senedd Parliament, participating in litter picks, and engaging in marine conservation experiences across Wales and Indonesia. With so much more to come.
For Kaylesha, Miss Earth Wales represents far more than a competition. It is a global community united by compassion, education, and a shared responsibility to protect the world we all call home. Through this platform, she hopes to inspire others to live more consciously and recognise that even the smallest actions can create meaningful change for our planet.
