PERCY MBANGO

My name is Perseverance Mbango… but everybody calls me Percy! I am 19 years old, and I’m proudly competing in miss earth Wales because I believe that environmental education and practices has no limits.

I am a self taught carpenter and whilst I was researching and working my way through a male-dominated industry. I noticed a clear pattern of waste within the housing and design structures. I remember saying to myself that “beauty shouldn’t be at the expense of the environment”. 

This then inspired me into becoming an interior design student to help create change in the industry from the inside. Through my studies, I have learned the importance of conscious material choices, waste reduction and creating designs that enhance wellbeing while protecting the planet. 

I am passionate about showing that beauty and sustainability can coexist. I am ready to use my platform, knowledge and experiences to inspire and encourage others to make more sustainable choices and that a sustainable lifestyle starts at home.
