LYDIA DE JONG EVANS

Lydia is a 22 year old senior fraud investigator with a passion for community education. Alongside her professional career, she is dedicated to promoting sustainable living and inspiring meaningful environmental change through her platform Rooted in our future.

Through workshops delivered in schools across South Wales, Lydia has helped her local community grow over 200 home grown vegetables, directly reducing single use plastics, food miles and pesticide use which highlights how small, everyday changes can collectively tackle wider environmental challenges such as biodiversity loss, and ecosystem decline.

Growing up on a farm, Lydia developed a love for the outdoors from an early age, whether that is spending time around the farm in her trademark pink wellies, her go-to shoes since she was two years old, or caring for her two horses Rosie and Flinchie at the stables.

Always looking to push herself beyond her comfort zone, Lydia has completed a series of demanding charity challenges, including Everesting Pen y Fan & Snowdon in under 24 hours and completing the National Three Peaks in under 32 hours, raising over £5,000 for causes close to her heart along the way.

Through both her advocacy and personal challenges, Lydia is driven by a desire to create meaningful, lasting impact. Whether in nature, within her community, or through her environmental work, she is committed to inspiring others to live with purpose, compassion, and a deeper respect for the planet.
