VICTORIA BRAIN

My name is Victoria Brain and it is certain to say that the earth is at the forefront of everything that I do, rooted in my past present and future. I am currently studying a geography degree at one of wales’ top universities, Swansea, with a focus on the physical environment and human dynamics often in relation to climate. My educational background was stimulated by some incredibly passionate teachers who encouraged my love of the outdoors and the ocean from a young age, fostering a stewardship within me to protect the earth that I spent so much time in. 

Upon completion of my studies, I have the aspiration to become a hydrographer in the British royal navy, a job that entails the surveyance of global oceans and coastlines in addition to humanitarian duties. I am currently a Royal Naval Officer Cadet within the reserve forces, my experience in which has taught me about resilience, leadership and teamwork, skills vital in all aspects of my life. 

My passion for geography translates into my everyday life, manifesting itself in my personal environmentalism, belief in sustainability and a goal to educate others about the environment. I have been privileged enough to be taught by some of the leading researchers within the geographic field through pursuing further education, and participating as a Miss Earth Wales Finalist has allowed me the opportunity and platform to pass on this knowledge to my fellow finalists and other earth lovers in addition to my local community.
