PHOEBE THOMAS
Growing up on a small farm in the countryside of Carmarthenshire, surrounded by horses, my dog, and even my extremely characteristic peacock, I have always felt deeply connected to the natural world. Nature is not just something I admire, its is apart of my everyday life. I am a Law graduate at Swansea University, where I practiced Environmental Law. Also currently studying a master’s degree in Cybercrime & counterterrorism, along side my studies, I am an avid supporter for charities which I hold close to my heart, fundraising over £1200 over the last 5 years, including Battersea dogs & cats' home, wildlifeSOS, BWAP, The Black Mambas, sarcoma Uk & Dementia UK (which is the most personal to me) In my spare time I do enjoy picking up old hobbies such as the flute, tennis, golf, and bridal modelling. I am also apart of the Welsh Wildlife trust, volunteering in nature reserves across Carmarthenshire.
My connection to nature from an early age naturally developed into a love for photography, picking up a camera at the age of 10, to now at 23 I have fallen in love with nature and animal portraiture. Through the lens, I found I could capture not just what I saw, but what I felt—calm, wonder, urgency, and a sense of responsibility. Photography became more than a creative outlet; it became a way to advocate for the planet and inspire others to see the fragile beauty that surrounds us. From this passion, I founded Phoebesfocus, a platform and hope to turn into a business, I am dedicated to showcasing the wonders of nature through visual storytelling. But I did not want it to stop at admiration, I wanted it to spark action. That is how my environmental project, #FocusForNature, was born. #FocusForNature invites people from all levels of society to pick up their cameras, or even just their phones, and capture the nature that inspires them. Whether it is a bee on a flower, a sunrise, or wildlife spotted on a daily walk, each image becomes part of a collective reminder that our Earth is worth protecting. By combining art with advocacy, this campaign makes conservation feel personal and accessible. What makes this journey even more special is how personal it is to me. I do not just talk about nature—I live in it, photograph it, and fight for it. I believe when people see the world differently, they start to treat it differently.
As I continue this journey, through Miss Earth Wales, and beyond, I carry with me the beauty of the land I call home, the animals who have shaped my heart, and the belief that creativity can create action. This is only the beginning.
